About Scurvy

Killed an estimated 2 million sailors between 1500 and 1800. James Lind proved citrus cured it in 1747, but the British Navy waited 48 years to adopt it. The British got the nickname limey from using limes. Vitamin C was finally isolated in 1932. The cure was known and forgotten multiple times.
