Bubonic Plague
About Bubonic Plague
The Black Death killed 75-200 million people in the 14th century, 30-60% of Europe. Plague doctors wore bird masks filled with herbs, believing bad air caused disease. The third pandemic in 1894 spread globally from Hong Kong. Plague still occurs in parts of Africa, Asia, and the Americas and is treatable with antibiotics if diagnosed early.
