About Rabies

Once symptoms appear, rabies is nearly 100% fatal. Described in Mesopotamian law codes. Louis Pasteur developed the first vaccine in 1885, saving Joseph Meister. Still kills 59,000 per year, mostly in Asia and Africa. After a possible exposure, wash the wound with soap and water for 15 minutes and seek post-exposure treatment urgently.
